Story Hour

The library provides story hour for three and four year olds from September until school is out in May. Classes meet every Tuesday at 10:00 AM, except when school is out on breaks. We enjoy an hour of short films, music, crafts, snacks, and listening to books.

Mommy and Me

We are offering Mommy & Me classes on Tuesdays at 10:00 AM for children under the age of 3. The program lasts about 15-20 minutes and consists of songs, puppets, finger plays, bubbles and more. This class does not meet if school is not in session. Registration is not required.


Pete the Cat

For Kindergarteners and First Graders, Pete the Cat Story Hour will meet at 3pm on the 1st Monday of every month, from September through May.  If there is no school on that Monday we will meet on the following Thursday.  We will enjoy a fun filled hour of Pete the Cat themed stories, crafts, and end with a snack.

Magic Tree House

Magic Tree House Book Club is for Second and Third Graders.  We will meet at 3pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, from September through May.  Come for an adventure as we travel through time and around the world with Jack and Annie!  We will focus on one book each month as we make a craft and enjoy a snack.

Amazing Stories of Survival

Amazing Stories of Survival is a program for Fourth and Fifth Graders.  We will meet at 3pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, from September through May.  Enjoy a snack, make a craft, and get “LOST” in an interactive adventure as we learn vital facts about different extreme environments that will help us choose a path to safety.

Kindergarten Kick-Off

Kindergarten Kick-Off is and annual event to get children and their parents ready to start school. Parents get to hear about school policies, after school programs, and other topics while the children get to spend some time playing in the Children's Library. In the second hour the parents get to ask questions and get to know some of the school representatives. Children and parents will also have the opportunity to ride on the school bus together.



Weakley County Reading Railroad

The Weakley County Reading Railroad is a cooperative effort by the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, the Governor's Books from Birth Foundation, and the county. The goal is for all preschoolers in the state to have their own Imagination Library. A book is mailed to each child who participates every month until their fifth birthday, absolutely free. To participate the child must reside in Weakley County. Registration forms can be picked up at the  C. E. Weldon Public Library and all other public libraries in Weakley County or you may register online here.

Game On

Game On is for children 10 years old and up. We have several Xbox Ones, 10 computers, and a Wii with a selection of games. We play everything from Roblox to Rocket League and many others in the conference room every Friday from 3-5pm.
